This chest was abused and had been in a damp basement for many years. Veneer was missing in places and a lot of it had curled, especially around the base, necessitating re-glueing and a lot of inventive clamping. Trim at one end of the lid had to be replaced as well as that of one end of the chest along with a foot. Other repairs were also made before refinishing.
